Specialist Convalescent Care

At Gloaming Fields, we provide structured convalescent livery for horses requiring recovery following injury, surgery or veterinary treatment

Located in South East Wales overlooking the Severn Estuary, our quiet rural setting allows horses to recover in a calm, carefully managed environment.

What We Provide

Each horse is managed according to their individual veterinary care plan, with consistent daily monitoring and attentive routine.

Convalescent livery includes:

• Stable management and daily mucking out
• Hay and bedding
• Turnout or restricted turnout as advised
• Three daily welfare checks
• Implementation of prescribed care routines
• Liaison with your veterinary practice
• Coordination with farrier or therapist as required

Owners supply hard feed and prescribed medication.

Our Approach

Recovery requires consistency, observation and calm handling.

We focus on:

• Structured daily routines
• Clear communication
• Practical, welfare-led management
• Minimising stress during recovery

Our aim is to provide owners with reassurance and horses with a stable, supportive environment during vulnerable periods.
